Welcome
my S.H.O.U.T B.O.X!

6.24.08;; Well, it's almost July. Which means new nominees for our table on the right. Head on over to the Reference board and the "July Nominees" thread to cast your vote and tell us who you think deserves those positions for July. Please? In other news, Pikky has some plots ready to pop out, such as the Elevator Thread (hint hint, Pikky) the Romeo & Juliet play, Pikky-Max vs. Kal, etc. To read up on what'll be going on around here because of Pikky, go to the plot board. And make sure to nag her about starting some of those brilliant ideas. ;]
6.16.08;; Hey, it's me again! I just wanted to let everyone know that I have noticed that this seems to be the down-point of the RPing year, the time when most people are losing their muse (I wasn't spared, but I'm recovering steadily!) and some are going away on vacation. That means that we have to work harder than ever to keep this site active! Advertise everywhere, spread the word, RP and post as much as you can. And I know this may sound hypocritical of me considering my recent struggle with the terrible disease of muse-loss, but as I said, I'm on my way to being my usual obsessed-with-this-site self! Which is good for you and bad for my essays. Not that I've had any recently.

Bernard DeVoux // Europe history professor
« Thread Started on Apr 25, 2008, 7:43pm »

Name:

Bernard DeVoux (deh ¨C VOU)

Age:

48 years

Gender:

male

Origin:

Parents are French, grew up in America and later moved to England.

Job:

Europe History professor

Other:

n/a

Brief Description:

A dark brown haired, classical man with high standards for his students and is currently teaching Europe History.

Physical Description:

Bernard has a very classical French appearance. He is medium height, but still tall compared to most of the students. He¡¯s not thin nor fat, and he tries to keep it this way until he dies. His short, dark brown hair sticks up in the air so he has to use hairspray to keep them down. He has a high nose, thin lips, and big ears. His chin, somehow, always seemed to be raised in the air. Maybe it¡¯s because of his life-long habit of raising his head high. He does not have a beard. But for his wife¡¯s tastes, a short, scratchy stubble remained on his chin. His eyes are a dark blue color. Sometimes they appear lighter than they are and sometimes they even turn to the stormy gray. But his eyes are very affectionate and warm. It has never expressed hatred or anger, even when he is indeed angry. Like his face, his overall appearance is also very high class. He walks with a graceful gait that is probably only expressed in nobles back in the old days. His voice is modulated, making it more interesting to listen to rather than the monotoned professors whose class gets so tedious that students avoid that subject. Well, what more can you say?

Personality:

Bernard, as a teacher, is very strict and enforces high standards. He is notable for his extra classwork and homework, which earned him the nickname ¡°Endlessly¡±. Despite the negative comments he gets, he continues to set high expectations on these students because he want them to all excel later in life. Of course, he didn¡¯t mind comments and gossip at all. He thinks they are just another thing the teenagers do when they are bored. Although he is quite like that, as just a friend, he could be all you wish for. Bernard has another nickname, this times better, called ¡°BFF¡±. Girls absolutely adore his outgoing personality and flutter his high class humor. Because he grew up in America, he lived their culture to be like them. He applies their humor and styles to teaching on his own experience, and it works out quite well. He still speaks in a British accent, developed after some years in England. He had lived here for almost 25 years.

Background:

Before: Bernard¡¯s mother and father met in a subway station in Paris. Apparently they were the only ones riding the midnight express. They got along very well and later began dating. That was when they were around 30 years old and both working very hard. They got married soon after because they decided that it would be foolish to wait. Remy¡¯s company offered him a high position in America. They spoke French and British by then, and decided it was a great opportunity for them. Or course they were very respected in America. Not only did they both get excellent jobs and pays, they were also befriended with lots of people with class. And so they decided to have kids in America.

Childhood: And so Bernard, their first born, came to the world. He was raised like a French family, was taught both French and English culture, and grew up speaking British. The rest of the American culture was up to him to learn and fit himself in. He did, eventually in fourth grade. When he just started school, another baby was born. Her name was Madeleine. People called her Maddie in America, but later she switched back to Madeleine when they immigrated into England. Bernard was very happy as a child, but then he moved on.

Teenage-hood: Bernard and Madeleine attended Junior High and High School in America too. They were the all time favorites. Later, in the midst of their high school courses, the DeVoux family decided to move back to Europe. France at that time was having major chaos, so they moved to England instead. Because of their original cultures, Bernard and his sister fitted in as soon as they settled into their own home. By that time they were already filthy rich.

Adulthood: Bernard soon attended college, though not in Wescott, and began to teach. He taught in junior high and High schools, but wanted a stable job in an university. Finally his chance came. Wescott had a position open. His current job suited him very well and seeing his family happy makes him even more satisfied with his life. Madeleine, in the main time, worked as a manager for a top company and visited campus often.

Family:

Clair Juvette DeVoux [mother ¨C 76]
Remy DeVoux [father ¨C 78]
Madeleine DeVoux [sister ¨C 43]
Amilie Saford DeVoux [wife - 43]
